Woo Hooo!

An obsolete vow is one made in the past which has no relevance to your current situation, yet keeps you limited. You can erase or rescind the impact of those outdated vows so that current vows and promises and desires have an opportunity to flourish.

In truth, all you need to do is give your attention to what you desire, and those things you don't desire will disappear. Many people find that hard to believe and need to see different options and ideas, so dissolving the obsolete vows is more meaningful. Keep in mind, a little of this goes a long way, so don't get overly intrigued with the past. When you stay focused on what you want, you create it in your experience.

This article is divided into the following sections:

  1. Explanation of the Process of Rescinding Outdated Vow and Limiting Thoughts. This section includes the Overview of the Process of Rescinding Obsolete Vows, Honoring Current Beliefs, Impact of Obsolete Thoughts, Widespread Vows, Markings in the Energy Field, Invitation to the Divine.

  2. Personal Exercises for Empowerment . This section lists exercises you can do to support yourself in neutralizing the effects of negative thinking, limited beliefs, and obsolete vows.

  3. Examples of 36 Obsolete Vows and Limiting Statements. This section includes vows and other limiting statements submitted by individuals with suggestions from me. About 50 subscribers to the DailyAffirm Email List responded to this invitation: "I'll tune into your energy field, assist in lifting out the old phrase energetically, and listen to your higher consciousness for an appropriate replacement phrase." I suggested that they not concern themselves with whether or not the statement is technically a "vow" and present a statement of limitation that they perceive is operating in their lives. As you read through these, you'll notice some repetition in my responses. Let the repetition serve to alert you to the prevalence of certain thoughts.

  4. Twelve DailyAffirm Affirmations. On the DailyAffirm Process, the first week of each month is devoted to affirmations that support the releasing and cleansing of dynamics that oppose the month's theme. On the second day of each month, we acknowledge that limiting thoughts or "vows" of the past that restrict us today can be rescinded.

  5. Services to Assist in Rescinding Obsolete Thoughts and Limiting Beliefs. Jeanie's consulting services can assist you in neutralizing the negative effects of disempowering thoughts and beliefs.
